My top running spots in Outer East Melbourne!

☀️ Since relocating to Mooroolbark I’ve been frequently running some beautiful trails in and around the area, with my beautiful dogs George and Suki often joining.. Here are my top 4!

Lilydale lake – For those building up to their first 5 km

A very popular location for a nice, flat circuit just over 2.5km in distance, this is a run around the lake and super picturesque, it also has a coffee van frequently parked, an outdoor gym, a brilliant playground and even a water play area. A favourite family spot, pack a picnic to enjoy after your run and make the most of this gorgeous area.

Warburton trail – For the endurance runner

A nice long one with multiple entry and exit points, this trail goes all the way from Lilydale to Warburton, 40km each way. This is another super popular spot with families, cyclists, dog walkers and runners alike, you don’t have to commit to the entire distance and it’s beautiful scenery throughout, check out this one if you haven’t already!

⛰️ The rollercoaster course- For those looking for a technical challenge

Amazing run, but a fair warning that you will need recovery the next day as it’s hilly and hard work!

This is in the beautiful Dandenong ranges and is 23km in length in a single loop, Dodds track is the most challenging part of this loop and will test even the seasoned runner! Great for a challenge…

Tarralla creek trail: Croydon- For the social butterfly

Approximately 5.5km in length from Hewish Road to Dandenong creek, a nice running or cycling trail, considered quite an easy and flat run that can be a great one to do when you’re short of time, without compromising on beautiful scenery. You can find amazing coffee and cafes in Croydon to start or finish your exercise, this is also a great trail for a nice walk and catchup with friends.

I highly recommended all these trails, look forward to catching you on the trails soon!
