Tension headaches are something that I have seen clients present with time and time again! 

There are two very common reasons why tension headaches happen these are: 

 

  1. THE WAY YOU WORK 

  • Posture and staying stagnant  

I’m talking about the long hours at the desk doing tasks without adjusting posture, moving or stretching. This, paired with many hours in front of a computer can have a huge impact of the frequency and severity of your tension headaches. 

  • Lack of fluids and food during your day 

Having sufficient energy and looking after yourself is a great way to avoid getting tension headaches that can really affect how you live your life.  

  • Desk setup 

A lot of the time people have their workspace set up in a way that does not benefit the body or the mind. A great variation for a workspace is changing it up between sitting and standing desk and making sure you’re looking eye level at devices and not down or up all the time.  

  1. NECK STRENGTH 

Stiffness and weaknesses into the neck and midback, placing more stress on your head and causing tension headaches. Strengthening the muscles is something we can certainly help with, decreasing that pain and increasing the stability of your neck and mid back.
