What your body is trying to tell you!

I was just with a patient and they asked me, why has this knee pain come up all of a sudden when it’s hip pain that I usually have?

So I’d thought I’d share with you the information I gave them on this.

So…

Understanding what your body is doing is so important because if you don’t learn what your body is trying to tell you then what happens is…

Your hip pain will turn to knee pain that turns to other problems all over the place, which can really impact your day-to-day life and I don’t want that for you!

I want you to be confident in your body, feel strong in your movements, be energised and pain free each and everyday.

So here is what I want to share with you today.

My biggest point is that:

YOUR BODY IS INCREDIBLE AT COMPENSATING

It’s going to crack on and get the job done whether that’s walking, running, any labour-intensive jobs like a chippy or a plumber.

The thing is, if the area you need to utilise for these tasks is weak or not moving well, then other joints and areas of your body will step in to get the task done.

When the body compensates a long time, eventually a secondary problem will arise, in this case a knee issue can easily come about from the primary hip issue.

If your body isn’t happy with what you’re asking it to do it’s first going to whisper at you, small niggles, aches here and there.

When you develop a secondary problem your body is clearly telling you to fix the primary problem for good. It is placing more pressure onto other areas, in this instance to the knee joint below. Life can suddenly become very frustrating when you have two problems to deal with in your body.

The way compensation works, your body will whisper to you initially, If you don’t do anything about it then it will start talking to you, giving you a more consistent message that it’s not happy. At this point it is highly advisable to take action to resolve your problem.

If… you’re still not getting your body sorted this is when it will start yelling at you. Time to listen up! It’s your body letting you know it doesn’t have the strong foundation right now and it will give you some pretty intense pain! By this stage your body has had enough.

Now… if you’re still not listening by this point what happens is your body will SCREAM at you.

So how compensation typically occurs:
The best time to see us about a potential problem?

Answer: When your body starts talking to you, that is when you’re experiencing pretty consistent pain of a mild nature, or other joints are starting to get tender and sore also, remember your body is all connected

Listen, I hope this was helpful and you gained some understanding into what your body is trying to tell you.
