Suffering from Arthritis in the ankle? This is for you

Do you suffer from arthritis in one or both or your ankles?

If you’ve ever had a problem with arthritis, specifically in the ankles then read on this is for you!

I wanted to jump on and explain why it’s so critical to start taking care of yourself and starting to prioritise the care of your ankle arthritis NOW.

So…

This is important because arthritis has long been considered “something that once you got it, you’ve got it.. There’s nothing to be done!”

While your arthritis will remain, there are certain strategies to create strength and in turn, less pain in your ankles or any area you’re suffering arthritis for that matter.

If you accept your arthritis for what it is, then you’ll likely experience more pain, have trouble with your ankles, and feel limited in the activities you can do on a day-to-day basis.

This is important because if you don’t know how to help yourself when it comes to arthritis and understand that you can change your outcome.. You’re left unsure, in pain, incredibly frustrated and in turn feel very limited in your bodies capabilities especially of your ankles.

I don’t want that for you and it’s a disservice if I don’t let you know there’s something to be done!

I want you to feel strong in your ankles, reduce the pain you feel, have the tools and the knowledge to feel confident in your ankles capabilities!

So here is what I want to share with you today:

  1. There are pain relief exercises you can complete at home!

They are quick and easy but can make a world of difference to the pain that you’re experiencing. Tools that you need are a foam roller & a lacrosse ball.

We sell both at the clinic if you’re in need of one of either to complete these pain relief strategies..

  1. Foam roller to calf muscles
  2. Lacrosse ball to under foot
  3. Lacrosse ball to calf muscle

Check out detailed cards on how to do these via the link below!

2. Start simple

You’ve been suffering with your ankle arthritis for awhile now, you’re lacking confidence in your body. This is why it is so important to start small and to build your strength gradually over time.

Don’t go too fast too soon, you need to work your way up and support your body as it takes on more and more strength work over time.

There is a path to a better quality of life and ease of the pain you’re having with your ankle arthritis.

Our experienced physiotherapists can help give you tailored and specific plan to address your ankle arthritis.

Listen, I hope this was helpful and any questions please get in touch!
