Podiatry

At Freedom Sports Medicine we set you on the path to a pain-free, active lifestyle

We walk on average 128,000km in a lifetime – more than 3 times around the world! We expect our feet to go the distance with us, but unfortunately they cannot be replaced like a pair of shoes.  At FSM, we care for your feet as we understand they are an investment to your future.

Our Podiatrists are highly trained practitioners whom complete a 4.5 year degree at University.  Podiatrists can help all concerns of the lower limb ranging from a sprained ankle to help correcting a bunion, or help with corns or warts.

Podiatrists at Freedom listen and treat the true cause of your problem

At Freedom Sports Medicine (FSM), Podiatrists are trained to use techniques such as massage, joint mobilising, dry needling, shockwave and specific and deliberate exercise prescription to help you with your concern.  Additionally, through assessment of your walking and running pattern they accurately decipher what footwear is best for your needs in sport and in your daily life.

At FSM we treat all Podiatry conditions, which includes common foot complaints, however we have a clear interest in musculoskeletal podiatry.  Podiatry at FSM focuses on the prevention, treatment and management of soft tissue and sport injuries of the lower limb and the feet.

We care about your health goals and help you live your best life

At FSM, your Podiatrist will work with you to develop a detailed treatment pathway. We will focus on 3 key areas:

  1. RESULTS: What are my goals and why are they important to me?
  2. REALITY: What is my problem? What caused it? How is it impacting me personally?
  3. ROADBLOCKS: What is stopping me from where I want to be and where I am right now?How long will it take me to get better? How can I help myself?

We focus on a balance between hands-on intervention with accurate and deliberate exercise prescription as we believe in educating, empowering and enhancing you towards positive change.

Your treatment plan is goal-based so that we can track your progress and so that you never feel like you are lost or lack momentum. We have state of the art treatment rooms with a minimum of 30-minute appointments so that your experience is thorough, not rushed, 1:1 and focused.

Our team of Sports Physiotherapists, Physiotherapist, Podiatrists, Myotherapists and Pilates & GLA:D Practitioners based in Ringwood since 2014, will collaborate to determine the best possible approach to your treatment and recovery. In some cases, this may mean a referral to another FSM service so you have a family of experts who know your story and how to address it holistically.
