Spring school holiday recap!

Just like that the school holidays have come to an end!

We prepared with activities and strategies going into these school holidays!

As it was Jesse’s first year in kinder, we quickly learnt that we needed to prepare for the holidays in advance.

Working as a team full time in our business, the clinic is a space Jesse knows well, he feels safe and supported. This holidays we changed it up, it certainly takes a village to raise a child!

We invested in small table and chairs, setting up an activity corner for when Jesse was here.

We had planned outings, daily park plays and adventures in a routine (Jesse LOVES his routines).

We had playdates and special treats, sensory play, LOTS of slides and even some goodies from the op shop that provided hours of entertainment!

It’s all about creativity in supporting both family and work.

Here is some of what we got up too below. 🙂

1. Cherry hill blossom festival

Such a beautiful event, only running for two weeks over Spring, kids are FREE and adults are only $12.50, there are rows and rows of beautiful cherry blossoms, a play area for the kids and picnic tables galore!

We packed a beautiful picnic and enjoyed some lovely homemade cherry ice cream for dessert. We really loved this space and spent hours exploring, if you didn’t manage to check this out over the school holidays, I highly recommend for next year!

2. Olinda playspace

The Dandenong ranges has amazing outdoor adventures, if you’re for a space for the kids to run around, Olinda playspace is my first pick! This playground has some gorgeous features and it is frequented by a coffee van (yay for parents) There is also a stunning view of silvan dam amongst the already beautiful greenery. There’s the old Olinda golf course that now serves as a beautiful open area to exercise our beloved pooches! Additionally there are some lovely eateries to check out this way so make a day of it!

3. Tesselaar tulip festival

This is such a gorgeous event for parents and kids alike, rows and rows of beautiful tulips perfectly manicured into appealing patterns and rows. There are so many activities for the kids here, outdoor circus and games, face painting, character appearances & more.

If you’re a fan of appealing landscapes, dutch treats and a fun day out I highly recommend getting out to this festival!

What were your favourite activities these holidays?

Any suggestions of places to visit this Spring?

I’d love to know!
