Constant pain in the knee?
Have a constant ache that just won’t go away no matter what you do?
If you’ve ever experienced a huge pain in the knee, then this is for you!
So….
Knee joint issues are some of the most common symptoms people present with here in the clinic…
I want to talk about some key information about knee problems.
I think it could be really helpful for you if you’re constantly finding yourself suffering from pain in your knee.
Talking about this is important because if you don’t do something about your knee now..
You’re going to have prolonged pain, stiff joints, limited movement and not be able to do the things that you love.
We really want you to be pain free, feel like you can rely on all the joints in your body and tackle any goals you set your mind too.
So here is what I want to share with you today:
1. You need to think holistically
If you focus on only strengthening one area, such as your quads or your VMO (The little muscle on the inside of your knee), this is too simplistic.
It’s usually more than one area surrounding the knee that needs attention. You need to treat the whole lower limb holistically.
You need to assess your ankle, is it stiff, lacking flexibility, sore?
You need to look at how strong your hips are and how strong your core muscles are.
Treat the areas you find are lacking strength and mobility. This will make sure your knee has the support it needs from not only limbs directly connected to it but also above and below.
This supports getting the desired long-term results for the knee that you deserve.
2. Persevere for long term results
I know you’ve had knee issues for a long time..
You’ve gone down the surgery route and are looking forward to feeling confident again in your knee’s capabilities.
You’ve started your rehab and after a few weeks feel the pain subside, you think you’ve made it.
I want to stress that when you’re out of pain (Which is amazing) and a testament to how far you’ve come.
Where you will find long term results is continuing the rehab plan beyond pain. This entails specific and tailored strengthening exercises and benchmarks so that your knee is at its best to function long term.
You want to have full confidence in your knees capabilities? See your rehab through to the end, and reap the results!
I hope this information insightful and that it helped you gain some clarity surrounding your knee issues.
