We love exploring our local parks and playgrounds!
Here are my top 4 picks for the whole family when you want to get outdoors and enjoy the local area..
1. Croydon Park
Such a great open space to have a kick of the football, play on the playground or eat a picnic in the park. There are two ovals you can kick around on or run the dog, with the playground only a stones throw away and all the local amenities on your doorstep. Our favourite stop in food is blackwork cafe and the new ice cream shop mastika!
2. Olinda playspace
If you find yourself up in the beautiful Dandenong ranges and are looking for a space for the kids to run around, Olinda playspace is my first pick! This playground has some gorgeous features and it is frequented by a coffee van (yay for parents) There is also a stunning view of silvan dam amongst the already beautiful greenery. Additionally there are some lovely eateries to check out this way so make a day of it!
3. Warrandyte river
This crowd favourite recently went under a full makeover, with a brand new playground, bbq areas and undercover shelters. The best bit about this playspace is there is even a coffee van situated right at the playground! (In other words, a parents dream). It also happens to be a stones throw away from the local bakery and indeed the river itself. Be sure to take a stroll down the track before or after a long play session.
4. The arboretum- Boronia
If your kid likes ducks and flying foxes then look no further than this particular play space. The best part about the arboretum is that the playground is entirely enclosed, which is great news for those of you that have runners…am I right? 😉
This is the perfect place to explore with community gardens, mosaic walls and paths galore, bring a picnic and enjoy this lovely space.
